What are Performing Arts Residentials?

Schools are invited to our magical home, Leiston Abbey for a five-day Performing Arts residential.

Courses cater for up-to 30 students plus support staff. Schools make Leiston Abbey their home for the duration of the course having exclusive access to the Medieval barn, Upper Guesten concert hall, 14th Century Lady Chapel concert hall, rehearsal studios and recording studio.

“Pro Corda lifted our students above the ordinary to taste and achieve the extraordinary!”

SEND School Lead Teacher

Activities are delivered by SEND Performing Arts education specialists. Students become a Production Company learning many aspects of Musical Theatre, such as Prop Making, choreography, music composition, acting and vocals. Each day the team comes together for a Production Meeting to reflect on the day’s activities and plan how the Thursday Evening Show will look and feel.

Wellbeing is at the heart of the programme. Each day begins with a gentle yoga practice, and we re-group after the afternoon break with music and relaxation.

Students are gently prepared for their performance with House Concerts and Talent Shows.

“The world of Pro Corda has been a magical place to experience, and I can safely say that I don't remember another week when my face was sore from smiling and my heart was full of song from start to finish”
