All Pro Corda courses have excellent pastoral care, and this comes partly from the relatively small numbers on the course due to the emphasis on chamber music and partly from the expertise and experience of the pastoral staff. All staff are chosen for their experience and empathy with this age group, and students and parents alike will find us warm and welcoming.

The surroundings at Leiston Abbey in the heart of Suffolk make for a magical first music course experience, where new but long-lasting friendships are made.

The director of the course is Dominic Moore who first came to Pro Corda as a student 40 years ago. His violin teacher was one of the founders, Pamela Spofforth. He later won scholarships to Winchester College and the Royal College of Music studying the violin with Itzhak Rashkovsky, and also the piano as a joint first study with Peter Element.

Dominic plays the violin, viola and piano, and directs his own chamber ensemble ‘St George’s Chamber Orchestra’, based in Beckenham. He also leads Buckinghamshire based Alina Orchestra, is a violinist in the orchestra for the West End production of Phantom of the Opera, and teaches violin and viola at New Hall School, Chelmsford.
